Job description
Control Room OperatorOur Guardian Glass facility in DeWitt, IA is hiring for the role of Control Room Operator. We are seeking driven individuals who enjoy learning new things and being hands-on. In this role, you will be responsible for operating the equipment and monitoring the process. Our Control Room Operators work a 12-hr shift to include weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Starting pay is $28/hour.Shift: This role supports a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Employees will train initially on day shift (5:45am-6:00pm) before transitioning to a rotating shift schedule that includes both day and night 12 ? hour shifts.Due to the nature of the operation, flexibility is required, and overtime may be necessary to support production needs. If you are a safety-oriented person with a commitment to attendance excellence, we look forward to hearing from you.What You Will DoOperate, monitor, and control process operation along with troubleshooting from a remote-control room up to 6 hours dailyRespond to any alarms including some emergency responsesMaintain the equipment in your areaPerform quality checks of the glass being producedMaintain a safe work environment by consistently wearing proper PPE, performing safe work behaviors, and communicating all safety concerns to supervisorPerform tasks such as lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds, walking, climbing, stooping, and standing, up to 12 hours/day, in a non-climate-controlled environmentMust be able to work in and around heat for periods of timeWho you are (Basic Qualification)High school diploma or equivalentOne (1) or more years of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environmentExperience using a computer and familiarity with technologyWhat Will Put You AheadExperience working in a control roomExperience monitoring and troubleshooting manufacturing processesExperience working independently and/or with minimal supervisionAs a Koch company, Guardian Glass is one of the world's largest manufacturers of float, value-added and fabricated glass products and solutions.
