About us
Celeb Haircare is the creator of Celeb Luxury and CelebPro, two professional brands focused on clean, high-performance color care and styling. Celeb Luxury is an award-winning pioneer in color-depositing shampoos and conditioners. While we're rooted in professional salon culture, our fastest-growing channel is direct-to-consumer: our web store and marketplace presence put our boldest colors straight into customers' hands.
The role
We're looking for a hands-on Controller & Analyst to own accounting and finance across the company and its related entities, and to support the business with analysis and reporting.
This is a one-person finance function. You'll do the work yourself, from paying bills and invoicing customers to closing the books each month. You'll be the person the CEO and our outside CPA rely on for accurate numbers.
We're a small team, so everybody pitches in where it's needed. You should be comfortable helping outside your core role when the business calls for it.
What you'll do
• Pay all vendor bills and manage payment runs
• Invoice customers, apply payments and follow up on collections
• Run the monthly close: bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, accruals and financial statements
• Reconcile inventory between our inventory system and the general ledger, and account for production work orders, landed costs and inventory adjustments
• Record and reconcile sales channel settlements from Shopify, Amazon and Walmart, including fees, refunds and retailer deductions
• Handle foreign currency customers and vendors (CAD and EUR)
• Book payroll from our payroll provider and keep related accounts reconciled
• Manage sales tax, state filings and estimated payments
• Prepare year-end packages and work with our external CPA on tax returns
• Support Amazon Vendor Central and EDI order processing
• Build reports and analysis for the CEO on margins, cash flow, pricing and channel performance
What we're looking for
• An accounting background with hands-on bookkeeping and month-end experience
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and QuickBooks Online
• Experience with inventory accounting and an integrated inventory system (Fishbowl or similar)
• Able to close the books independently and explain the numbers
• Detail-oriented, organized, and willing to dig into a reconciliation until it ties
• Strong Excel skills and comfort building analysis from raw data
Nice to have
• CPA, or progress toward it
• Experience with Shopify, Amazon Vendor Central, Walmart or retailer chargebacks
• Standard or FIFO costing experience
• Multicurrency accounting
• Experience in beauty, haircare or CPG
Start date
As soon as possible, ideally with time to overlap with the current Controller & Analyst before December 1.
