Hunter Recruiting is seeking a highly accomplished Controller to plan and direct the accounting operations of the company. This is an internal role and a member of Hunter's leadership team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, diligent, tactful, and organized.
Experience and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
10+ years of related experience required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Proficient in accounting software.
Ability to understand the needs of the business with analytical thinking and data to back up decision-making.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement and continually monitor a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Recommend benchmarks that measure the company’s performance.
Manage all vendor payments.
Direct and monitor the activities and performance of the workers' compensation program to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Produce annual budget/forecasts and report significant budget differences to management.
Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations, in collaboration with COO.
Work with external vendors and provide needed information for audits.
Monitor retirement plan and review annual 5500.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversee Accounting Assistants, Accounting Specialists and Senior Accounting Specialists.
Oversee HR staff, including HR Manager, Generalist or administrative personnel.
Interview, hire and train new staff.
Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Prolonged periods of sedentary work.
Occasional transporting of office supplies and/or equipment up to 20 pounds.
Travel required

Additional eligibility considerations
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
