Job description
A large family-owned retail company in Brooklyn is seeking an Assistant Controller. This is a newly created seat reporting directly to the CFO, with real ownership of the accounting across multiple entities and the latitude to improve how the department runs.
The company is investing in technology and wants someone who will bring better systems and automation into the accounting function rather than simply maintain the current close. This person will work with an in-house team as well as an offshore team.
Qualified candidates must have 5+ years of accounting experience and must have owned a monthly close end to end across multiple entities. Private company, family office or closely-held business background preferred. Strong systems skills and a demonstrated interest in automation and AI are a significant plus.
