Job description
A Financial Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Controller – CLO Accounting.
Responsibilities
Oversee monthly and quarterly fund accounting and reporting, including financial results, investor allocations, and performance calculations.
Review work prepared by fund administrators, including NAVs, investor statements, capital activity, and supporting schedules.
Monitor fund cash activity, liquidity needs, expenses, and budgets to support investment and operating decisions.
Review portfolio and accounting data, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of reconciliation items.
Review management and performance fee calculations for accuracy.
Respond to investor inquiries regarding fund reporting, account activity, and tax information.
Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors on annual financial statements, tax reporting, and related requests.
Partner with investment, investor relations, and other internal teams on reporting and special projects.
Support applicable regulatory reporting and help improve accounting policies, processes, and controls.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
10–12 years of accounting or finance experience, including investment fund accounting and reporting.
CPA required.
Experience with credit investments preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal daily direction and take ownership of assigned objectives.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and email.
Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with employees, management, and external partners to solve problems and deliver results.
