Controller
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the organization’s accounting and financial reporting functions. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening accounting processes and controls, and providing timely financial information to support business decisions.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting
Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with GAAP and company policies
Develop, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes and assist with ongoing financial planning
Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide meaningful insights to management
Manage cash flow reporting and support treasury and banking activities
Coordinate annual audits and serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors
Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with outside tax advisors as needed
Manage and develop members of the accounting and finance team
Partner with leadership and other departments to improve financial processes and reporting
Maintain and enhance accounting systems, reporting tools, and financial processes
Support senior leadership with financial analysis and other strategic initiatives
Assist with special projects and additional accounting or finance responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
Previous experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar accounting leadership role preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes
Strong understanding of internal controls and accounting best practices
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Prior experience managing and developing accounting professionals
Strong proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a hands-on, collaborative environment
CPA or other relevant professional certification is a plus
