Job description
As Controller , you’ll lead the Accounting team and take ownership of the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting, while serving as a strategic partner to the CFO in driving business performance and growth.
Leadership & Strategic Partnership
Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounting team through coaching, guidance, and performance feedback
Partner closely with the CFO to improve efficiency, strengthen operations, and support strategic business decisions
Champion training and development initiatives that promote continuous improvement and professional growth
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Oversee the preparation, analysis, and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly and annual statements
Prepare and consolidate financial reporting packages to support lending requirements and compliance obligations
Ensure adherence to GAAP and other applicable accounting standards and regulations
Work collaboratively with state and federal agencies on financial reporting and compliance matters
Cost Accounting, Budgeting & Fixed Assets
Manage cost accounting activities and ensure the accuracy of product costing
Lead the annual budgeting and planning process in support of organizational goals
Oversee fixed assets and assist with capital budget preparation
Direct inventory control processes, including physical counts and reconciliations
Audit & Process Improvement
Lead the annual audit process and serve as the primary liaison to external auditors
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and process improvement initiatives
Partner with the ISO/Quality team to maintain compliance with relevant standards
Support additional responsibilities and special projects as needed
What we are looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred
6–10 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2–3 years in a financial management role
Demonstrated experience managing accounting functions, budgeting, and audits
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Strong leadership and team management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in accounting and reporting software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
