Job description
AST SpaceMobile is pioneering the first global cellular broadband network in space, aiming to connect the unconnected mobile subscribers worldwide. The Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in designing and maintaining industrial control systems to support this mission.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop control systems for automated equipment and industrial processes.
Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system documentation.
Develop control architecture using PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial networks.
Program and commission PLCs using platforms like Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
Integrate robotic systems and configure industrial communication protocols.
Perform factory and site acceptance testing of automated systems.
Troubleshoot system issues during installation and operation.
Implement process improvements for system reliability and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and participate in risk assessments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
Experience programming PLCs and HMIs.
Strong understanding of electrical control systems and industrial automation.
Ability to read and create electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
