Position Type: Temp-to-Hire
Initial Temporary Assignment: 90 Days
Potential Permanent Placement: After 90 days of successful temporary employment
Start Date: October 1, 2026

Candidates MUST be eligible to gain access to the military installation. Successful completion of the required background check and base-access screening is mandatory before employment and access to the facility.
Candidates must:
Be able to obtain and maintain access to the military installation.
Successfully pass the required background check.
Meet all applicable military installation security and access requirements.
Be prepared to provide any information or documentation required for the base-access process.
Candidates who cannot obtain base access will not be eligible for this position.
Position Summary
K&S Staffing Solutions is seeking three experienced Cooks to support food preparation and meal service operations within a military dining environment. This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity , beginning with a 90-day temporary assignment with the potential for permanent employment upon successful completion of the temporary period.
The ideal candidates will have experience preparing food in a professional kitchen, be comfortable following established recipes and instructions, and consistently follow food safety and sanitation requirements.
Candidates must be comfortable working in a structured military environment , maintaining professionalism, and working as part of a team.
Training
Mandatory training will be provided by military personnel on:
October 1–2, 2026
8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Candidates must be available to attend both full days of training.

Note: Specific shifts may be assigned based on staffing and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook food according to established recipes, menus, and instructions.
Follow proper food preparation, handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and food-service environment.
Properly portion, prepare, and present food for meal service.
Monitor food quality, freshness, temperatures, and appearance.
Follow all applicable food safety and sanitation requirements.
Work efficiently during scheduled meal-service periods.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow kitchen staff.
Follow instructions provided by military personnel and facility leadership.
Maintain a professional and respectful attitude in a structured military environment.
Perform additional kitchen duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous professional cooking or food-service experience preferred.
Ability to follow recipes and standardized preparation instructions.
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Must be able to obtain and maintain access to the military installation.
Must successfully pass the required background check and base-access screening.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
Ability to work early morning shifts, including a 4:30 AM start time
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen duties.
Comfortable working in a military environment and following established procedures and directions.
Must be able to successfully complete required training.
Candidates must demonstrate satisfactory performance throughout the temporary assignment to be considered for potential permanent employment.
Required Attire
Employees are required to provide and wear:
Non-slip safety shoes
Black pants
Plain white shirt
Chef coats will be provided.

K&S Pay Period: Monday through Sunday
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Payday: Friday
Following the 90-day temporary assignment, qualified employees may have the opportunity to transition to permanent employment based on performance, attendance, operational needs, and client approval.
