Job description
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to oversee financial and administrative operations across multiple entities within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have strong construction accounting expertise, hands-on experience with multi-entity financial management, union payroll compliance, and proficiency in Trimble Viewpoint.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily cash flow, bank reconciliations, treasury operations, and intercompany accounting across multiple entities.
Oversee general ledger activities, month-end and quarter-end closings, and financial statement preparation.
Process full-cycle payroll and manage certified payroll for DOT and municipal projects.
Handle union reporting, payments, wage rates, and benefit contributions.
Manage payroll tax filings, sales tax reporting, year-end tax documents, and other regulatory filings.
Oversee construction project billing and maintain accurate financial records.
Coordinate insurance renewals, workers' compensation and general liability audits.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EEO, and other applicable reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in a Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
Expert-level proficiency in Trimble Viewpoint is required.
Strong knowledge of construction accounting, multi-entity accounting, union reporting, and certified payroll.
Experience with payroll tax filings, insurance audits, and regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with Atrix, BMO banking portals, Textura, GC Pay, or Procore is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
