Correction Officers Wanted
Wayne County Correctional Facility is seeking applicants for Correction Officers. The Wayne County Correctional Facility is located off of Route 6, in Texas Township. It houses both Male and Female offenders in various housing units.

Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalency; Satisfactory completion of the Wayne County Correctional Facility General Knowledge/Aptitude Test; Completion of PA Department of Corrections Basic Training required upon promotion, may require overnight travel; a valid driver's license Prior to employment offer, the candidate must submit to and be provided a criminal history/ background check and successfully complete a drug screening test.
Special Requirements
The duties of this position require frequent direct contact with individuals in confinement who are suspected or convicted of offenses against the criminal laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Daily stress and exposure to potentially dangerous situations, such as, physical attack, are an inherent part of the position. The Wayne County Correctional Facility is a 24 hour, 7 days per week operation and as such various shift work schedules may be applicable to this position.
Miscellaneous Information
Essential Job Functions • Supervise offenders in housing units and those segregated for administrative or punitive measures • Instruct inmates in housekeeping and sanitation • Make periodic patrols of quarters and work areas • Patrols the internal and external perimeters of the Facility • Initiate counts of offenders at regular and irregular intervals • Maintains control and discipline, including the use of physical restraint • Prevent the introduction of contraband • Monitor, supervise, and screen visitation traffic • Maintain and demonstrate proficiency in the use and care of firearms • Maintain proper security of inmates being transported
