Job description

COO - OPS - Institutions OperationsThis position is responsible for providing and supervising programs for the rehabilitation of offenders at a medium-custody correctional facility. The primary programs areas are offender classification; correctional programs including educational/vocational, volunteer programs, religion, and recreation, and correctional counseling. Other responsibilities of this position include the following:Communicating effectively with other staff, offenders, and the general public whether verbally and/or written.Defending oneself against attack by violent offenders and working under stressful conditions caused by direct contact with incarcerated offenders who can become physically violent and verbally abusive.Conducting continuous visual and audio surveillance of assigned work area.Demonstrating and instructing offenders in the proper safe use of tools, equipment, and supplies.Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating various documents and behavioral data gathered from interviews, written documentation, and personal observation.Performing crisis interventions and routine counseling to include suicide prevention.Training, observing, evaluating, and supervising effectively subordinate staff in their duties and responsibilities.Accounting for supplies and equipment, developing, implementing, and managing Correctional Programs.Monitoring off site programs, which may require operation of a motor vehicle in a safe and secure manner at any time of day and in varying weather and road conditions.Salary Range: $39,244 - $68,679This job posting will close at 11:59 pm, the night before the end date listed above.This is a RE-POST of position .
