nPosition Overview

nCentral Maine Healthcare is seeking a highly motivated and patient-focused Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our cosmetic plastic surgery practice. The APP will work closely with the plastic surgeon and clinical team to provide exceptional patient care throughout the cosmetic surgery journey, from initial consultation through postoperative follow-up.

nCentral Maine Healthcare (CMH), a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine through a network of more than 40 primary and specialty care locations. The system includes Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston, a 250-bed, not-for-profit regional referral hospital that is home to the region's only Cancer Care Center, an orthopedic ambulatory surgery center, and the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute. CMMC also serves as the central Maine base for LifeFlight of Maine, the state's only medical helicopter service.

nCMH also includes Bridgton Hospital and Rumford Hospital, two 25-bed critical access hospitals that provide essential care to Maine's rural communities.

nResponsibilities

nnnConduct comprehensive patient consultations and medical histories for cosmetic surgery and aesthetic procedures.

n

nnEvaluate patients and assist with determining appropriate treatment options in collaboration with the plastic surgeon.

n

nnProvide preoperative and postoperative care, including wound assessment, suture removal, dressing changes, and monitoring for complications.

n

nnPerform follow-up examinations and address routine postoperative concerns.

n

nnAssist the surgeon with office-based procedures and surgical care as appropriate.

n

nnProvide patient education regarding procedures, expected outcomes, risks, recovery, and postoperative instructions.

n

nnSupport cosmetic and non-surgical aesthetic services within the provider's scope of practice and training.

n

nnMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

n

nnCommunicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, aestheticians, and other members of the practice.

n

nnRecognize and appropriately escalate postoperative complications or urgent clinical concerns.

n

nnMaintain a professional, compassionate, and service-oriented approach with every patient.

n

nnParticipate in maintaining a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment.

n

n nQualifications

nnnCurrent Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the applicable state.

n

nnNational certification as an NP or PA.

n

nnCurrent BLS certification; additional certifications as required by the practice.

n

nnPrevious experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, aesthetics, surgery, or a related specialty preferred.

n

nnStrong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

n

nnExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.

n

nnProfessional appearance and a patient-centered approach.

n

nnAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented cosmetic practice.

n nPay Transparency

nCentral Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $118,000 to $134,000. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
