Cost Accountant | Montague, MI

Salary Range: $70,000 - $104,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Montague that are seeking Cost Accountants. Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain standard product costs.

Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and profitability.

Prepare detailed cost reports and present findings to management.

Forecast future costs and participate in budget preparation.

Support make-or-buy decisions and capital expenditure analysis.

Implement and monitor internal controls related to inventory and cost of goods sold.

Collaborate with production and supply chain to identify cost reduction opportunities.

Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

3+ years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods.

Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.

Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

Bonus Qualifications Experience with ERP system implementation or optimization

Advanced Excel modeling skills, including Power Query and Power Pivot

Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma

Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)

Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software
