COST ACCOUNTANT
Warrendale, PA | $95,000–$110,000
Our client is a well-established manufacturing organization in the Warrendale area looking to add an experienced Cost Accountant to its finance team. This role will focus heavily on cost accounting, inventory, manufacturing variances, and product costing while partnering closely with Operations and other departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COST ACCOUNTANT
Maintain and analyze standard costs, BOMs, routings, and product cost structures
The Cost Accountant will support new product costing, pricing, profitability analysis, and ERP costing
Analyze material, labor, overhead, scrap, yield, and production variances and identify root causes
Manage inventory valuation, reserves, reconciliations, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes
Support month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
Develop and monitor manufacturing KPIs and provide financial analysis to Operations and Finance leadership
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and budget-to-actual analysis
Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Finance on cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
Develop financial models and analysis to support operational decisions, including sourcing, productivity, and capital investments
The Cost Accountant will track and report cost savings and provide meaningful financial insights to leadership
Prepare and maintain cost accounting reports, dashboards, and other financial analyses
The Cost Accountant will support ERP costing functionality, system enhancements, internal controls, and GAAP compliance
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE COST ACCOUNTANT ROLE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, manufacturing variances, and financial controls
Experience with SAP in a manufacturing environment; SAP S/4HANA preferred
SAP GUI experience highly desirable
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, complex formulas, and data analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively with Finance, Operations, Plant, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams
