Cost / Project Accountant | Lake Worth, FL | $140K–$145K Total Compensation
We are conducting a search for a Cost / Project Accountant to join a growing construction management firm in the Lake Worth, FL area.
This position will serve as the primary local accounting resource and partner with project leadership, operations, procurement, and a larger accounting team based in another state.
Key Responsibilities: Manage project accounting throughout the project lifecycle
Prepare owner billings, SOVs, lien waivers, and related documentation
Manage monthly close, forecasting, WIP reporting, and cost-to-complete analysis
Analyze budgets, variances, labor trends, contingencies, and project performance
Track change orders, commitments, procurement activity, and subcontract changes
Review invoices and requisitions for accuracy, compliance, and budget alignment
Prepare cost accruals and support month-end and year-end close
Maintain project financial data and support process improvements
Qualifications: 5+ years of relevant accounting, project accounting, cost accounting, project controls, or operational finance experience
Construction management, general contracting, real estate development, or construction accounting experience preferred
Experience with CMiC and/or Textura highly preferred
Strong understanding of project accounting, billing, forecasting, WIP, and cost-to-complete analysis
Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Candidates from outside the construction industry may be considered with experience using CMiC, Textura, or comparable project accounting systems.
Schedule: 5 days in office preferred;
4 days in office / 1 day remote may be considered
Compensation: $140K–$145K total compensation
