Overview
nHelio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health, theCounselor lwill review of main responsibilities. TheCounselor lwill work (days) on a per diem basis out of Helio Health’s Binghamton Inpatient Detoxprogram.
nPay rate: $22 per hour
nResponsibilities
nnnMaintain a case load of patients seeking treatment from the effects of substance use and/or mental health disorders.
n
nnPerform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and orientation, assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping.
n
nnParticipate in program, administrative and clinical committees as assigned.
n
nnRelate effectively with staff, clients, and community while upholding confidentiality requirements.
n
n nQualifications
nnnHigh School Diploma/GED required AND demonstrated steady progress towards QHP status:
n
nnQHP status includes active enrolment in CASAC or Associate’s or Bachelor’s level Human Services program.
n
nnAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with CASAC-T preferred.
n
nnOne year counseling/human services experience preferred.
n
nnEquivalent alternative combination of education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.
n
nnKnowledge of addiction/recovery, behavioral health, self-help group process and principles of counseling.
n
nnProficiency with basic computer applications.

Salary and hourly compensation offers are based on candidate's education level and experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager and program.
