Liberty LEADS seeks counselors to work with our students in our afterschool programs. The groups should use project-based learning to expose students to discussions around topics that impact young adults such as relationships, school, self-esteem, self-empowerment. Discussions should be interactive and should stimulate analytic and reflective thought contributing to students' overall personal growth. The goals of the group are to promote students' self-awareness, social awareness, relationship, and responsible-decision-making skills and improve student attitudes and beliefs about self, others, and school. Counselors have experience engaging students in person or using Zoom if circumstances dictate changing from in person to online classes. Curriculums and daily discussion topics and lesson plans are required for review and approval. Weekly lesson plans must be submitted for review one week prior to class. During remote classes, counselors must appear on camera at all times and persuade students to communicate and participate in the same way.
