Job description
Category: Marketing
Location:
The Creative Strategist will own the research, ideation, and optimization of creative assets across paid ads, email/SMS, landing pages, and UGC. They'll translate brand goals, market data, and consumer psychology into briefs, scripts, and testing roadmaps, partnering with designers, editors, media buyers, and UGC creators to execute.
This role focuses on conversion optimization and creative direction — guiding creative generalists, reviewing and approving output, and ensuring all creatives are aligned with CRO goals. The strategist does not handle direct web design, but must have strong CRO experience to boost campaign effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Audits & Research
Conduct in-depth creative audits of client accounts to analyze hooks, angles, CTAs, ad types, and messaging performance.
Benchmark competitors and identify whitespace opportunities for positioning, media mix, and messaging.
Evaluate market awareness levels (unaware → most aware) and develop full-funnel creative strategies that align with customer journeys.
Campaign & Content Strategy
Build creative roadmaps for DTC brands—integrating prospecting, retargeting, and re-engagement tactics.
Concept new hooks and angles based on emotional drivers and product benefits.
Create testing frameworks and prioritize experiments across ad formats (UGC, statics, GIFs, before/after, green screen reactions).
UGC Briefing & Production Support
Draft clear UGC briefs for creators with scripts, shot lists, hooks, and storyboards.
Collaborate with creators to refine tone, pacing, and authenticity; review rough cuts to ensure alignment with strategy.
Curate social proof and testimonials for use in ads, emails, and landing pages.
Collaboration & Execution
Partner with Media Buyers to align creative with funnel stages and performance KPIs.
Work with copywriters, designers, and editors to translate briefs into polished, brand-right content.
Guide messaging and visuals for email/SMS flows and CRO landing pages.
Guide Creative Generalists by providing direction, feedback, and approvals on deliverables to ensure brand consistency and performance alignment.
Focus on conversion rate optimization (CRO) through data-driven creative strategy and testing.
Oversee creative direction without direct involvement in web design execution.
Performance Analysis & Optimization
Track performance data across channels, spotting winning creatives and under performers.
Document learnings and build "swipe files" of high-performing hooks and formats for internal use.
Continuously iterate on campaigns based on testing results and audience feedback
Client & Stakeholder Communication
Present creative strategies, testing plans, and performance recaps to clients and internal leadership
Collaborate with Brand Managers to ensure creative roadmaps support retention and revenue goals
