nJob Description
nThe Credit Analyst for Equipment Finance is responsible for approving the extension of credit and/or making recommendations to the final decision-makers regarding new, renewal, and extension transactions. The analyst conducts comprehensive credit analysis by gathering, interpreting, and evaluating financial, collateral, and credit information on prospective and existing customers.
nThe successful candidate will review and analyze credit information, identify and assess business and transaction risk, prepare credit recommendations, and support portfolio monitoring activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate recommendations clearly and effectively.
nPrimary Responsibilities
nnnConduct complete credit analyses for equipment finance transactions and customers.
n
nnReview and interpret credit information, including:
n
nnDun & Bradstreet reports
n
nnPersonal credit information
n
nnFinancial information
n
nnCollateral analysis
n
nnBusiness risk assessments
n
nnEvaluate transactions to determine whether the supporting information presents a complete and accurate credit story.
n
nnAnalyze customer accounts and portfolios to identify potential credit quality concerns and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate risk.
n
nnPrepare credit write-ups, recommendations, and approval requests within established systems and workflows.
n
nnDocument approval rationale and credit recommendations in Excel and credit approval systems.
n
nnSupport equipment finance transactions generally under $1 million, including assets such as:
n
nnSoftware
n
nnConstruction equipment and excavators
n
nnPortable buildings
n
nnOther commercial-use equipment
n
nnPartner with credit approvers throughout the review and decision-making process.
n
nnUtilize technology and credit analysis tools to evaluate transactions and identify potential risks while exercising independent judgment in recommending courses of action.
n
n nAdditional Responsibilities
nnnSupport audit requirements and quality control reviews.
n
nnParticipate in static pool reviews and quarterly portfolio performance assessments.
n
nnMaintain compliance with credit policies, procedures, and risk management standards.
n
nnAssist with portfolio monitoring and ongoing review activities.
n
nnCollaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient transaction processing and high-quality credit decisions.
n
n nCollaboration & Stakeholder Management
nThis position works closely with a variety of internal and external partners, including:
nnnInternal sales representatives
n
nnExternal vendors
n
nnDocumentation teams
n
nnCredit approvers
n
nnPortfolio management partners
n
nnRisk and audit teams
n
n nStrong communication and relationship-building skills are essential to success in this role.
nBasic Qualifications
nnnBachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
n
nnTypically four or more years of relevant experience
n
n nPreferred Qualifications
nnnStrong credit analysis and analytical skills.
n
nnIn-depth knowledge of credit analysis, credit administration, credit policy, procedures, and risk assessment.
n
nnBackground in finance, accounting, economics, banking, or a related discipline.
n
nnExperience analyzing commercial credit transactions and financial statements.
n
nnAbility to review and evaluate collateral and equipment-based transactions.
n
nnStrong written communication skills, including technical report writing and credit documentation.
n
nnEffective verbal communication and presentation skills.
n
nnStrong organizational and multitasking abilities.
n
nnDemonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
n
nnProficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
n
nnExperience with credit and portfolio management tools such as:

nThe salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $70,890.00 - $83,400.00
