Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Critical Care Float Pool experience.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Alabama license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >65 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 6 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: - First-time travelers are accepted with at least 2-years’ experience and Cerner or Epic experience. - Traditional travelers require at least 2-years’ experience. - Required General Cardiac skills include vent care, hemodynamic monitoring, medication titrations, arterial line, IABP, Impella, EKOS, CRRT (PrismaFlex), chest tube, Swan-Ganz catheter, FloTrac monitoring, titratable drip management, and hypothermia protocol. - Required CVICU skills include Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines, hemodynamic monitoring, chest tubes, CRRT, medication titration, IABP, Impella, EKOS, vent management, and Tandem Life/Tandem Lung. - Required MICU skills include arterial lines, trach care, chest tubes, vasopressor usage, sedation usage, and central lines. - Required Neuro ICU skills include trach care/maintenance, arterial line, and vent/ETT skills; EVD and ICP monitoring can be taught. - Required Surgical ICU skills include trach care, arterial line, chest tube, wound care, and drip management (pressors and sedation). - RNs are required to read and measure telemetry strips for ICU monitoring.
Preferred Skills/Experience: - CRRT is preferred for the Surgical ICU.
Special Requests: - You can have only 1 active application for the same position (same unit and shift at the same facility). You may apply for day and night shifts on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day-shift position on the same unit and facility. - You must include a proof-of-address document to apply. Unit Details: - The float pool includes General Cardiac, CVICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical ICU assignments. - General Cardiac patient types include STEMI, post-heart cath with interventions, respiratory failure/ventilated, post-cardiac arrest, post-stroke care, renal failure, hypertensive emergency, sepsis, and critical care needs. - CVICU patient types include post-op CABG, valve cases, thoracotomies, V-A and V-V ECMO, post-cardiac arrest, post-heart cath, post-op vascular surgery, and critical care. - MICU patient types include acute respiratory failure, acute renal failure, acute liver failure, DKA, sepsis/septic shock, and some post-surgical patients. - Neuro ICU patient types include CVA, subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), subdural hemorrhage (SDH), intraparenchymal hemorrhage (IPH), and seizures. - The Neuro ICU is a very busy unit with quick patient turnover. - Surgical ICU patient types include post-surgical, trauma, vascular, multisystem trauma, and neuro trauma. - A home unit will be assigned on the first day of orientation. - Uses Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors.
Shift & Scheduling: - Weekend rotation is every other weekend; back-to-back weekends may be worked rarely. - No call. - One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy. - The schedule cycle is 6 weeks.
Floating Requirements: - Floats to any like unit/patient location (MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds).
7 days maximum time off.
