Job description
NP / PA Day Shift Coverage Overview Provider Type: NP / PA
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Full time (3 12-hour shifts weekly)
Shift Hours: 7:00am 7:30pm (includes time for sign-out to oncoming shift)
Key Responsibilities Manage critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
Typical APP-to-patient ratio: ICU patients per APP (attending MD also available)
Collaborate with attending MDs to develop plans of care and communicate dynamic changes throughout the shift
Conduct ongoing patient assessments and implement appropriate interventions
Order entry and documentation in Cerner EMR , including:
History & Physicals
Consultations
Event / Follow-up Notes
Procedure Notes
Interpret diagnostic testing
Communicate with ICU nursing staff
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds each shift
Perform invasive procedures including (but not limited to):
Central line insertions (CVLs, vascaths, introducers)
Arterial line insertions
All procedures must comply with hospital MSO credentialing
Qualifications NP Candidates: MUST be Acute Care Certified
ACNP or PA with valid national and state licensure
Minimum 1 2 years of experience as an APP in an ICU setting
Proficiency with ICU procedures, specifically central and arterial line insertions
