Job description
n The Atrium Health Cabarrus Critical Care Team is actively recruiting an experienced, full-time Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. The APP will be expected to manage complex medical, surgical, cardiac, and cardiothoracic surgery ICU patients and attend and contribute to group/practice meetings, development of policies and procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.n
n About the position:n
n · Full-Time position 1.0 FTE = 145 shifts per yearn
n · 100% inpatient, adult medicinen
n · Service provides 24/7 coverage with shift-based model to a 54 bed ICU consisting of a mixed patient population of medical, surgical, and cardiovascular adult patients.n
n · Shifts are 13 hours long and include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are rotated equally among staff.n
n · Current group consists of 14 physicians and 14 APPsn
n · Employer paid benefits and CME allowance offeredn
n Position Qualifications:n
n · Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program. License to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina. Prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS for healthcare provider from AHA required.n
n · Nurse practitioners are required to have a Master's Degree or Post Master's Certificate in Acute Caren
n · Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. Current or pending CAQ certification preferred.n
n · NP/PA or RN experience in ICU requiredn
n · Knowledgeable about the following procedures or willing to learn: Central Line Placement, Arterial Line Placement, and Intubationn
