Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
Administer anesthesia to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other pain-producing clinical procedures under physician supervision.
Collaborate with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff involved in patient care.
Assess patients before, during, and after anesthesia administration.
Ensure patient safety and follow accepted anesthesia practice techniques.
Document patient procedures and incidents accurately.
Act as a liaison to surgeons, anesthesiologists, co-workers, patients, and families.
Participate in department quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities.
Adapt communication and behavior to respect patient privacy and meet specific patient population needs.
Perform other related duties as required.
About You
The company is looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
Master’s degree from a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
Certification through the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
Computer skills including proficiency with Windows applications and data entry.
Effective verbal and written communication skills to present information clearly and professionally.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including 24/7 availability, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
Physical and Environmental Demands
Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and stand for prolonged periods.
Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, and potential communicable diseases in a patient care environment.
Potential occupational exposure to hazardous medications and waste through handling and disposal.
