Job description

Crosswalk Safety MonitorLocation: The da Vinci AcademyRecruiting Start Date: 08/26/2026This posting will be open at least five (5) days after the recruiting start date.Estimated Start Date: 09/08/2026Directs the action of children and traffic at assigned crosswalks in order to ensure safe crossing of students.The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and other key duties that may be required. The district reserves the right to modify or change the duties or the essential functions of this job at any time.Reports consistently for work as scheduledPerforms other duties as assignedAttains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance StandardsDirects action of children at an assigned crosswalk in order to ensure safe crossingDirects visitors to officeEscorts children across the street and parking lotsIssues verbal warnings, reports misconduct, and requests assistance from appropriate personnel as requiredMaintains communications with the building principal and/or Colorado Springs Police Department, El Paso County Sheriff's Office, or Air Force Security Police regarding incidents that occur at assigned locations that could potentially impact the safety of pedestriansMonitors student(s) behavior, ensuring their compliance to district/building rules, policies, and regulationsSupervises parking lots and school groundsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to effectively manage conflictAbility to greet and interact with the public in a courteous and professional mannerAbility to provide a warm and caring attitude toward studentsAbility to work independently, without direct supervisionCommitment to the safety of students as a primary responsibilityStrong communication skillsWork Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a staff member typically encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
