Inpatient Behavioral Health Worker
Within Southern NH Medical Center's Behavioral Health Unit, we understand the vital connection between physical, mental, and emotional well-being. We offer comprehensive inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services, ranging from emergency care to intensive outpatient programs. Our Emergency Department continuously serves the diverse population of Southern New Hampshire with a 30-bed critical care unit. As a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Accredited Stroke Facility, we have taken proactive steps to ensure safe care for our psychiatric population through a 6-bed secured intradepartmental unit.
As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the Inpatient Behavioral Health Worker cares for adult patients with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders. Our staff works under the direction of the RNs and is accountable to the Director of Behavioral Health Services. The Behavioral Health Worker will successfully complete a competency-based orientation program to become proficient in serving the Behavioral Health patient population.
Assesses and identifies patients’ needs during their inpatient stay. Milieu Management. Utilizes data to improve quality and provide safe patient environment. Monitoring changes in patients across 6 bed unit along side nurses.
Associate degree in psychology, social science, special education, related health profession, or a related area of study required. Bachelor's Degree in a related area or in progress preferred. A minimum of three (3)-plus years of experience in a behavioral health setting may be substituted for the required associate degree. A minimum of three years of behavioral health experience is preferred.
