Job Summary and Qualifications
The X-Ray/CT Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of imaging procedures ordered by the physician. The X-Ray/CT Technologists are responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a diagnostic/therapeutic environment.
What you will do in this role:
The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist must demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology.
The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.
He/she must maintain knowledge about radiation protection and safety.
They prepare for and assist the radiologist in the completion of intricate computed tomography examinations, including a range of tissue biopsies and fluid drainages.
They prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with state, federal and hospital regulations.
Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists are the primary liaison between patients and departmental physicians and other members of the support team.
They must remain sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills.
They maintain confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information to assure that patient’s rights are protected.
Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships both inter- and intra-departmentally; to foster good customer relations and to observe the Skyline Medical Center mission statement.
Ability to be knowledgeable and compliant with the policies, procedures, and regulations relating to the Department of Medical Imaging.
Ability to use professional and ethical judgment and critical thinking when performing their duties.
Quality improvement and customer service allow the Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to be a responsible member of the health care team by continually assessing professional performance.
The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist participates in continuing education for optimal patient care, public education and enhanced knowledge and technical competence.
Work/shift assignment is dependent on coverage needs and may be scheduled at any Skyline location.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduation from an accredited education program in Radiologic technology.
ARRT R.T. (R) (denotes successful completion of the ARRT certification examination) (or registry eligible) or ARRT R.T. (R)(CT) (denotes successful completion of the computed tomography advanced-level examination)
1 year post-graduate experience – preferred
CT registration with ARRT within 12 months of hire or cross-training -– preferred
American Heart Association BLS certification required

Located at800 Dickerson Pike, this 12,000-square-foot freestanding emergency department is designed to bridge the gap in local healthcare, providing 24/7 emergency services where they are needed most.
As part of the TriStar Skyline family, you will work in a facility equipped with 12 emergency treatment rooms, advanced imaging (CT/X-ray), and full laboratory services. We are prepared to treat a comprehensive range of medical emergencies, including heart attacks and strokes, ensuring that when seconds count, high-quality care is just around the corner for our neighbors in East Nashville.
TriStar Skyline Medical Center is a 350+ bed facility. We are Tennessee's first comprehensive stroke center, a state designated Level 1 Trauma Center and a national leader in neuroscience. In addition, we are equipped with 3 helipads, new ICU and Medical/Surgical floors, and burn care services. We offer a CARF accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation program, an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and serves the North Nashville community as a leading provider of emergency heart care.
