Job description
Are you a high-energy CT Tech who thrives in a fast-paced, high-adrenaline hospital environment? We are seeking a dedicated Travel CT Technologist for a 13-week contract in a busy Detroit Level 2 Trauma Center.
This position is ideal for hands-on, proactive technologists who take pride in teamwork and patient care. Rather than just sitting at the console, you will be actively involved on the floor-moving, assisting with patient transfers, and managing high volume. Long-term travelers love working with this team and frequently extend their contracts!
Shift & Schedule
Shift: 3x12-Hour Night Shifts | 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Team Structure: Night coverage typically includes 2 staff members (2 CT Techs or 1 Tech + 1 Aide/Trainee)
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality standard CT procedures including head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, CTA, and IV contrast injections.
Maintain high active engagement: Transport and transfer patients to/from ER beds, set up equipment, and prepare patients for scans.
Manage high patient volumes efficiently-handling an average of 60+ scans per night (up to 80 on peak nights).
Utilize Siemens CT Scanners (2 active units on night shift) and log patient data using Cerner EHR .
Serve an adult and geriatric patient population (18+), with rare emergency pediatric stabilization.
Required (Must-Haves)
ARRT (CT) Certification: Must be fully registered in Computed Tomography.
BLS Certification: Active American Heart Association certification.
Work Ethic & Traits: High reliability, strong sense of urgency, physical stamina to move patients, and a collaborative team mindset.
Availability: Full commitment to the rotating weekend schedule without requesting block scheduling.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Trauma Center Experience: Previous work in a high-volume Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center (strongly preferred).
Education: Associate's Degree or higher (preferred for CLEA point-of-care testing regulations).
