Job DetailsJob Location: Main 499 - Floresville, TX 78114Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 2 Year DegreeTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: MidJob Category: Health CareSummary Operates computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional images of patients body for diagnostic purposes by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table, using supportive devices to obtain precise patient position and following protocols specified by Radiologist.
Administers contrast media orally or intravenously as ordered by physician/radiologist.
Enters data such as type of scan requested, slice thickness, scan time, and other technical data into computer.
Starts CT scanner to scan designated anatomical area of patient.
Talks to patient over intercom system and observes patient through window of control room to monitor patient safety and comfort.
Views images of organs or tissue on CT monitor display screen to ensure quality of images.
Performs CT image post-processing to include MIPPING and mutiplanar reconstruction.
Evaluates images (studies) for completeness and optimal technical quality.
Ensures procedure charges, to include supplies used, are entered correctly and in a timely manner in the Meditech HIS and RIS.
Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; one year related experience to be proficient.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
A.R.R.T registered in CT and TDSHS MRT state license required.
