Job description
The CT Technologist plays a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality imaging and supporting patient care within a collaborative healthcare team.
They perform CT procedures according to departmental protocols, ensuring diagnostic images meet quality standards while minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA).
Key responsibilities include operating imaging equipment independently, maintaining cleanliness and equipment functionality, obtaining patient history, verifying orders, and communicating procedures clearly to reduce anxiety.
They are responsible for patient comfort, privacy, and safety, administering contrast agents with proper technique, positioning patients accurately, and reviewing images for diagnostic acceptability.
Accurate documentation and proper management of studies in RIS/PACS are essential. The role also involves monitoring patient conditions, responding to emergencies, supporting departmental workflows, and maintaining a compliant, organized environment.
Qualifications** include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, at least one year of radiology experience, ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications, and BLS certification.
Skills** required are technical proficiency, attention to detail, effective communication, patient care, and adherence to safety guidelines.
