Job description
Job Title: CT Technologist
Department: Radiology
Location: Newark Wayne Community Hospital
Hours Per Week: Flexible, As Needed
Schedule: Monday - Sunday, As Needed to help cover days, evenings, and overnight shift
SUMMARY
As a CT Technologist, your ability to empathize with patients, specialized technical skills, and dedication to quality, greatly enhances the overall success of imaging and the department as a whole.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Care - Responsible for radiography of patients, including CT scans and Interventional CT guided procedures; provide on‑call coverage for CT section of Radiology; follow up on patient care issues/needs.
Documentation - Maintain accountability for proper documentation of exams and procedures; document performance of studies in patient charts.
Daily Maintenance - Assist with day‑to‑day supervision of the CT team; clean, restock and prepare rooms.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two‑year college degree in Radiologic Technologist in Applied Science or equivalent.
NYS license in Radiologic Technology (or) must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of employment.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT‑R) within six months of employment.
Effective 7/16/2018 - NYS Injection Certification within six months of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to work in various software applications preferred.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
