Job description
Role Overview: Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and research imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently or collaboratively conduct CT and molecular imaging, ensuring accurate data acquisition for diagnosis and interventions, while adhering to safety and legal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain correct patient identification, ensure proper preparation, and document clinical history confidentially.
Use appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles for patient safety.
Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and ensure secure data storage or transfer.
Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, and assist with interventional procedures.
Perform prescribed CT procedures, demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex tasks, and participate in quality improvement activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Certification by ARRT or NMTCB-ARRT-CT required at hire.
Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Strong understanding of imaging protocols, patient safety, and radiation safety principles.
