Production Worker OpportunityDairy Farmers of America has immediate job openings for motivated production workers to join our team. The facility is transitioning from a fluid dairy plant to a culture plant producing cottage cheese, sour cream and yogurt.Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) is a dairy marketing cooperative owned by more than 12,500 family farmers. Challenge status quo safety behaviors, engage in safety initiatives and attend all safety related training.Drive for and ensure work product remain in or exceed the standards and specifications established by quality assurance and compliance.Initiate and drive continuous improvement within the department, operations, and other areas of the facility as part of the team to ensure plant sustainability.Engage and support a team environment within the department and across the facility.Follow good manufacturing practices (GMP), safety policies and other policies as outlined by the company.Production operator will ensure proper specification on productTrack downtime downstream of filler and other applicable downtime equipment with the area,Perform required weight and code checks at correct intervals.Clean machine regularly during production, maintain floor cleanliness and complete all required master sanitation schedule items daily,Pass on information to incoming shiftOther duties as assigned by supervisorBenefitsCompetitive payTeamster pensionPaid vacation and 10 paid holidaysCareer growth opportunities – we promote from within!Teamster healthcare benefits, 100 % medical coverage w/prescriptionsTeamster dental and vision coverageService recognition and employee rewardsEmployee referral programTuition reimbursementUniforms providedWork for dairy farm familiesRequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferredAble to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalEffective verbal and written communications skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checksMust be able to stand, walk, pull, push, reach and bend virtually the entire shiftMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others when lifting is necessary and manually stack and move cases up to 6-8 cases highMust be able to work in a wet environmentMust be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidaysMay occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicalsAn equal opportunity employer
