Job description
Custodial Floater - 260 Days (Evenings)This position provides the janitorial services for the school buildings. Essential functions include conducting cleaning of corridors, cafeteria, rest rooms, shower rooms, according to departmental guidelines. Cleans light fixtures. Strips, scrubs and refinishes floors. Cleans walls, furniture, blinds, and carpet during summer months or when school is not in session. Performs snow removal from entranceways. Assists maintenance personnel when required.Equipment used includes hand tools of trade and related power equipment, including brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machines, vacuum cleaners, snow blowers, and snow shovels.Travel requirements include travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.Pay rate: $15.75 per hour +.50 differentialWork schedule: 8 hours per day 260 days per yearKnowledge, skills and abilities include knowledge of cleaning procedures. Ability to read and write. Ability to read and understand measurements. Ability to communicate to diverse groups. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to be neat and clean in appearance. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.Physical and mental demands, work hazards:Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
