Job description
Plant Maintenance AssistantTo assist the plant manager in maintaining safety, security, cleanliness and appearance of the physical plant.Maintain cleanliness of halls and entrances.Cleans walls and windows.Check dressing rooms.Cleans classroom units as specified in accordance with working schedule and minimum cleaning schedule specific school needs.Be responsive to coordinator, plant manager and/or assistant custodian where appropriate.Perform all other duties as required by the plant manager or Coordinator of Maintenance & Custodial Services.All weather conditions, winter and summer.Employee is expected to provide and wear appropriate clothing for conditions of the day.Work day consists of 4 hours daily, 5 days per week.Overtime, i.e., after hours. Saturday and Sunday is occasionally required.Plant Managers/custodial personnel may be required to work a split shift.Must be able to read and comprehend service order and repair request documents.Electric buffers, stripper, mop, push broom, etc.Trunk flexion and squatting are necessary requirements in accomplishing tasks such as working under raised buildings, in attic spaces, toilet room enclosures, etc., again often necessitating carrying tools, building materials, etc.Comprehend written instructions.Conduct activities in group settings maintaining an objective attitude, decorum and diplomacy, tact and discretion.Must be able to read and write and to comprehend instructions on operation of equipment of all types and on the use of chemicals used in cleaning operation.JP Schools offers a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience.JP Schools also offers a competitive benefits package.
