Custodial HousekeeperAre you excited by the prospect of working for an organization that truly values your contributions, provides opportunities for growth and development, AND gives you a chance to make a difference in the lives of children and families?The Custodial Housekeeper is a non-exempt position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the Unaccompanied Children Program and performing custodial duties as assigned.Duties Include:Provide a positive role model for the development of socialization and other skills for all childrenChange and launder bed linens every 5 days or after a child is released from the Program, whichever is soonerClean all bathrooms daily, including sinks, mirrors, toilets, and mop floors dailySweep the laundry area and mop floors daily throughoutEmpty trash daily from the offices, bathrooms, client bathrooms, and day areasVacuum the day room, hallways, office areas, and clients' rooms dailyClean clients' shower stalls and bathtubs dailyClean ceiling fans as needed throughout the building on a monthly basisDistribute toilet paper and paper towels as neededDust, polish, and clean furniture throughout the building on a room-by-room rotating basisWipe walls and clean windows once a weekChange lightbulbs, refill paper towels, refill sanitizing lotion, and soapDemonstrate cultural competencyCheck furniture for wear and tear; report any conditions that can be a hazard to the clients to maintenance immediately for repair or actionDevelop an inventory list and amounts needed of all paper products and cleaning supplies on a monthly basisPerform all other duties as assignedWhat We Offer:$18.77 per hour PLUS $.50 per hour for working during second shift hours and $1.00 per hour for working overnight and weekend hours15 PTO Days per year13 Paid holidaysMedical, Dental & Vision insuranceHealthcare ConciergeFinancial Wellness ProgramDependent Care Flexible Spending AccountSupplementary Accident, Hospital Indemnity and Specified Disease insurancePaid Life/AD&D insurancePet, Legal and Identity Theft programsContinuous training and professional development opportunitiesMileage ReimbursementAn opportunity to make the world a better place!What You Will Need:High school diploma or equivalent degree and one (1) year of experience working with children, preferredPrevious professional experience in housekeeping/cleaning is preferredExperience in a residential setting is preferredAbility to understand and carry out instructionsAbility to deal professionally, courteously, and effectively with clients and staffAbility to deal with minor emergencies and know where to seek helpAbility to communicate and read effectively, both verbally and in writingAbility to communicate with a wide variety of people of varying ages and backgroundsAbility to lift and/or carry cleaning supplies, equipment, etc., up to 40 lbs. when requiredAbility to work under stressful situations and in a stressful environmentAbility to work overtime when requiredProlonged standing, bending, and liftingPotential exposure to clients who may be verbally and/or physically aggressivePotential exposure to communicable diseases and blood-borne pathogensMust wear personal protective equipment as required by the exposure control plan and safety programMust wear safety glasses when dealing with harsh chemicalsProof of Immunization for: Varicella (2 doses), MMR (2 doses), Influenza (1 dose yearly), Tdap (1 dose)Who We Are:From babies to seniors, Gulf Coast JFCS serves all people in need, regardless of race, religion, culture, or gender identity.
