GreenStar PositionGreenStar offers excellent paid time off benefits and flexible and affordable health care options!Purpose: To maintain cleanliness of store, parking lot, cart retrieval, trash removal, and assist with maintenance of building and grounds. To create a hospitable environment that welcomes coworkers, member/owners and community members. We seek out, welcome and celebrate people with diverse identities to participate in our community-owned cooperative business structure.Status: Level I, Supervised by Front End ManagerResponsibilities:Parking Lot:Keep parking areas clean and orderly to ensure that space usage is maximized.Ensure that shopping carts and baskets are returned to corrals.Work as part of team and establish priorities to maintain clean and safe parking spaces.Patrol parking areas in order to prevent vehicle damage and vehicle or property thefts.Help customers locate their cars.Greet customers as they travel through the parking lot into the store.When requested, assist customers with bagging groceries and bringing groceries to their car.Cleaning:Remove trash from parking lots, walk ways, patios, entrance ways and fence lines.Maintain safety of all walk ways to include sweeping, shoveling, and salting as neededComplete routine cleaning lists daily, weekly, monthly, etc.Keep landscaped areas clean and orderly.Clean glass doors and windows.Ensure carts and baskets are cleaned according to department schedule and as needed.Dust, mop, sweep, vacuum floors.Respond to spills, broken glass, and other messes as quickly as possible.Ensure bathrooms are sanitary and trash is removed promptly.Work as part of team and establish priorities to maintain a clean and safe work environment.Dispose of damaged or spoiled goods appropriately (compost whenever possible).Department Maintenance:Help maintain carts through simple repairs and upkeep.Ensure maintenance of department equipment and notify manager if equipment breaks.Customer Service:Assist customers with product questions in a prompt, and courteous manner, referring them to other staff when necessary.Work as part of a team to develop a hospitable department space that feels welcoming to all.Open doors and greet customers.Be proficient at express register lanes and any register-specific customer service duties.Work cooperative with diverse staff, customer, and owner base. Allow co-op principles to guide your actions at workSafety Responsibilities:Follow GreenStar's safety rules as outlined in the Employee HandbookAssist other employees in safety needs.Report unsafe equipment and conditions.Participate in safety training programs.Perform other tasks as assigned to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.Storewide And Other Duties:Attend Human Resources trainings, all-staff meetings, department meetings, and OBM Huddles to stay informed.Support on-the-job training of new staff.Read GreenStar publications to stay informed.Respect and comply with storewide personnel policies.Adhere to scheduled shifts.Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements:Qualifications and Skills:Communication – effective interpersonal communication with team members.Comfortable working in inclement weather.Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments.Open to input/feedback on work performance.Open to giving input/feedback on Facilities department.Self-Driven/Motivated throughout shift.Accuracy, attention to detail, cash handling experience.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands, stay calm, and prioritize.Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
