Custodian/HousekeeperThe mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to primarily serve the veteran population of Louisiana through the provision of medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning the veterans to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Custodian/Housekeeper to clean on a daily basis, mop, disinfect, dust, and sweep assigned areas. To also strip, buff, wax, and disinfect floors in an assigned area on a regular basis using required industrial machinery.Minimum QualificationsSix months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties:Clean contaminated trash bins & contaminated trashDecontaminate patient rooms, restrooms, and isolation rooms that contain biohazardous waste such as blood, urine, feces, and used needles.Dispose of infectious waste when necessary and document that proper procedures were followed.Report deficiencies such as paint peeling, water leaks in faucets/toilets, bugs in light covers, broken equipment, etc.Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: Probational or PromotionalCompensation: This position includes a premium pay of $1.00 per hour for each hour physically worked.
