Job description
Custodian PositionUnder the supervision of the Director of Maintenance, the custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of the facility and its grounds. Their role plays a vital part in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for clients, staff and visitors.Position Duties:Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dustingAble to stand, squat, bend and lift 50lbsEmptying trash and recycling binsCleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and kitchen areasSweeping and mopping the dormsMaintain floors by stripping, waxing, and buffing as neededReplenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paperEnsuring the exterior of the facility is clean and presentablePicking up trash and debris from the groundsClearing snow and ice from walkways and entryways during inclement weatherReport any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisorEnsure all cleaning supplies and equipment are used and stored safely in compliance with OSHA regulations and other safety standardsAssist in conducting routine safety checks, such as ensuring fire exits are clear and equipment is functioning properlyOperate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, carpet cleaners and pressure washerAssist with minor maintenance tasks assigned. Comfortable using hand toolsSupport emergency cleanup efforts in case of spills, leaks, or other unexpected situationsParticipate in all trainings as scheduled by the supervisorPainting and repairsPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisorRequirements:High school diploma or GED preferredAt least one year of custodial or janitorial experienceAbility to speak, write and understand EnglishAbility to flex schedule as neededCPR/First Aid Certification (Provided by the Program)NARCAN (Provided by the program)Driver's License preferred
