Our mission is to promote shalom (peace, well-being) and justice (right relationships) through a Christian ministry of service and advocacy with those who are oppressed, forgotten and hurting.Position SummaryThe Custodian is responsible for the general maintenance & up-keep of multiple building sites. This includes some exterior duties as well as interior building duties.Some of the duties include:Perform cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements.Performs regular building inspection as assigned to ensure safety of all staff, clients & visitorsPerforms incidental maintenance, repairs, installations and building duties as assignedIdentify potential maintenance issues and bring them to attention of your immediate SupervisorRoutine floor maintenance including shampoo rugs, carpet, mop, wax and buff floorsCollect and empty trash receptacles and recycle bins.Change air filters and clean ventsLight painting and drywall repairWash windowsDusting all surfacesMaintain thorough supply inventoryMaintain work areas in a neat and efficient manner, assuring equipment and tools are properly stored after each projectEnsures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and suppliesActively participates in quality improvement activities of the program/agencyMaintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct in terms of privacy of client information and adherence to confidentiality policies & upholds the service philosophyComply with policies and procedures governing the program and agency and consults with appropriate administrative staff regarding issues posing potential riskBuild and maintain positive relationships with peers and other programs and departments within the organizationQualificationsOur ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, required. Previous training or experience with facility maintenance helpful, knowledge of basic building maintenance preferred. High attention to detail and deadlines.
