Backed by one of the largest North American infrastructure funds, Cologix's experienced leadership team, certified staff and commitment to ESG initiatives help form a culture that values our people, our environment and our clients.About the PositionWe are seeking a dependable, proactive Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and professional data center environment that supports daily operations, audit readiness, and customer confidence. This role is responsible for routine janitorial services across common areas, offices, hallways, and support spaces, as well as grounds maintenance, seasonal weather support, waste handling, and common-area supply readiness.This role goes beyond basic housekeeping. You will help ensure the facility remains orderly, accessible, and presentable in a live, customer-facing, mission-critical environment. You will coordinate work with Operations to avoid disrupting site activity, support recycling and waste management practices, assist with ESG-related documentation, and help maintain safe exterior conditions during changing weather.Help keep a mission-critical environment clean, safe, accessible, and customer-ready every day.Shift: Monday-Friday (7am-3pm)What You Do DailyPerform routine cleaning of common areas, offices, hallways, support spaces, and other non-IT areas in accordance with site standardsKeep floors, walkways, staging areas, and workspaces clean, orderly, and free of debris or obstructionsSupport approved cleaning in controlled or data hall–adjacent areas while following access, escort, and contamination-control requirementsCollect, separate, and dispose of trash, recyclables, and approved waste streams in accordance with site and environmental policiesMaintain custodial, sanitation, and common-area supplies, along with required waste, recycling, and ESG-related recordsPerform routine grounds maintenance, snow and ice removal, and seasonal exterior upkeep to support safe site accessOperate and care for custodial and grounds equipment, along with common-area and pantry equipment, within approved scopeCoordinate activities with Operations to support site readiness, customer visits, and changing operational prioritiesIdentify and promptly report unsafe conditions, access hazards, spills, leaks, weather impacts, or other issues outside custodial scopeWhat Makes You a Good FitExperience in custodial, janitorial, grounds, facilities support, or similar work environmentsStrong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, organized, and professional spacesAbility to work safely and consistently in a live operational environment with clear procedures and boundariesComfortable using a computer for basic tasks including email, training modules, supply ordering, and tracking recycling or ESG-related reportingComfort handling waste, recycling, cleaning equipment, supplies, and seasonal exterior responsibilitiesAbility to notice and communicate unsafe conditions or site issues quickly and clearlyReliable work habits, strong follow-through, and a professional presence in customer-facing spacesLeadership ProfileTakes ownership of cleanliness, order, and presentation across assigned spacesWorks proactively to keep the site ready for daily operations, audits, and customer visitsFollows procedures carefully and coordinates well with Operations and other site personnelMaintains professionalism, awareness, and consistency in a mission-critical environmentUnderstands when to act directly and when to report issues for the appropriate team to addressWhat Success Looks LikeCommon areas, offices, support spaces, and assigned exterior areas are consistently clean, orderly, and professionalWalkways, access paths, and workspaces remain safe, clear, and ready for daily operationsWaste, recycling, and supply management are handled consistently and in accordance with site expectationsGrounds care and seasonal weather response support safe and reliable access to the facilityCustomer, leadership, and audit-facing spaces are ready when needed and reflect a high standard of careOperations has confidence in the quality, reliability, and professionalism of custodial supportQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred2+ years of experience in custodial, janitorial, grounds, or facilities support work preferredExperience operating cleaning equipment, grounds equipment, or similar tools preferredBasic computer skills required, including email, online training systems, and simple data entry or reportingAbility to perform physical work, including lifting, walking, standing, bending, and working indoors and outdoors in varying conditionsAbility to support snow and ice removal, grounds upkeep, and seasonal exterior work as neededStrong communication skills and the ability to follow site procedures, safety practices, and operational directionAbility to work flexible hours when needed to support site conditions, weather events, or operational prioritiesWhy Join UsThis is an opportunity to play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment inside a mission-critical facility.
