Job description
Custodian PositionEducational institution is searching for dependable and detail-oriented Custodians to help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students and staff. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, have strong attention to detail, and be able to work independently while following established cleaning, safety, and sanitation procedures.Responsibilities And Duties:Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuumingClean and disinfect restrooms, hallways, classrooms, and other assigned areasEmpty trash bins and dispose of waste appropriatelyMaintain cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are properly stored and in good working conditionAssist with setting up and breaking down rooms for events, meetings, and other activitiesFollow all safety protocols and proper procedures when using cleaning products and equipmentEnsure assigned areas are free of hazards and maintained in accordance with health and safety requirementsRespond promptly to spills, accidents, and other urgent cleaning needsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentPerform other custodial and maintenance duties as assignedRequirements And Qualifications:Previous custodial, janitorial, or professional cleaning experience preferredAbility to safely use cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipmentBasic knowledge of proper cleaning and chemical handling proceduresAbility to lift and carry cleaning supplies, equipment, and materialsStrong attention to detail and commitment to cleanlinessGood communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionDependable, responsible, and safety-consciousAbility to work effectively as part of a teamApplicants may be subject to a background check.Applicants may be subject to a fingerprint background check.Applicants may be subject to a MVR check.A pre-employment drug screening is required as a condition of employment.Sparrow Company Executive Search & Staffing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
