The district covers approximately 500 square miles and serves the communities of Boulder, Erie, Louisville, Lafayette, Superior, Broomfield, Nederland, Ward, Jamestown and Gold Hill.Location: US:CO:BOULDERDepartment: MaintenancePosition Title: Custodian-FloaterPosition Start Date: October 19, 2026Position Type: Unit C-MaintenanceFTE: 1.0 - 40 hours per week - Temporary through July 31, 2026 - 1st Shift: 6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.Work Schedule: 261 Days - 12 MonthsHiring Pay Range: $20.47 - $25.57Position Pay Range: $20.47 - $28.23Closing Date: October 6, 2026SummaryThis position’s function is to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment for students and staff by performing custodial work that relates to the general upkeep and sanitation at varying BVSD facilities depending on the need. Cleaning is performed according to the standard found in written manuals, written and verbal instructions, safety data sheets (SDS), Health Department Standards and State Rules and Regulations.ResponsibilitiesClean areas of the building such as classrooms, offices, student and staff bathrooms, stairwells, cafeteria, hallways, library, etc., using proper cleaning practices and procedures and using custodial equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Remove trash from the building and from outside trash containers and place into the dumpster.Must be willing and able to commute to assigned schools/locations within the school district on a routine basis.Report to head custodian or lead custodian maintenance/safety issues, custodial supply and equipment needs.Secure the building. Lock classroom and office doors, close windows and turn off lights.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired:Completed and submitted BVSD online application.Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English.Must pass pre-employment background screenings.Must pass post offer physicalAbility to be on feet up to eight hours every dayAbility to perform physical labor, including heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds; occasional dual lifts of up to 100 pounds and requires ability to frequently reach, lift, bend and stoop; may occasionally require climbing ladders or crawling.Preferred:High school diploma or equivalent.Bilingual English/SpanishExperience operating custodial equipment and toolsAbility to recognize safety issues in the workplacePositive communication, interaction and work experience with diverse peopleSalary Placement varies according to experience and education.
