Custodian Job PostingFull-time 3rd Shift Custodian at Hempfield High SchoolJob Summary: Provide a safe, orderly, and sanitary environment, conducive to learning, for all students and staff.Position Information: Full-Time with benefits Range 9, Minimum $13.06 plus an additional $1/hour shift differential Monday night through Friday night work schedule, 261 days per year 8 hours/day; 10:00pm-6:30amQualifications: Some experience in custodial work preferred Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds High school diploma or equivalent necessary Knowledge and understanding of various cleaning chemicals is preferred Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the PA School Code) Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptablePrimary Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure assigned area is cleaned and maintained as per instruction from the Building Custodial Supervisor.Perform minor maintenance/repairs, such as replacing light bulbs and ballasts, turning shut-off valves on sinks, toilets, and urinals, and replacing air filters, etc.Oversee and help with the set-up/tear-down of any special events such as, musical, organizational, and sporting.Maintain communication with other custodians to assist them in areas where needed.Ensure outside groups report to appropriate areas and have what they need when using the facilities.Perform minor grounds keeping and maintain availability to remove snow when necessary.During the summer, remove and clean all furniture in the rooms including stripping, waxing, and buffing floors and/or cleaning carpets, and detail-clean all rooms.Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Custodial Supervisor.Required Documents: Current PA Criminal History background check Current Federal Criminal (FBI) background check Current Child Abuse background check
