Job description
Custodian/Grounds PositionReports To: The Custodian receives daily direction from the school Head Custodian. In the absence of the Head Custodian or Principal, the worker will receive direction from the Supervisor of Building and Grounds, and/or the Business Administrator/Board Secretary.Job Goal: The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness of the school building and grounds.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Successful Criminal History Clearance.Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization.Experience as a school custodian, or the equivalent in custodial service at other institutions and firms.Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the basic techniques of custodial service.Certificate of good health by school doctor.Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports.Ability to communicate with others.Demonstrate aptitude for completion of assigned tasks.Good attendance and punctuality.Black Seal license (One-year time allowance).Valid NJ Drivers License.Salary: as per the negotiated contract agreement.EEO/AA: It is the policy of Berkeley Heights Public Schools not to discriminate against someone on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, citizenship, age, sex (including pregnancy), disability or genetic information, or other protected status under applicable federal, state or local law.
