The Building Services Department is seeking (1) Custodian I to join the already excellent team taking the Building Services Department to the next level of excellence! Cleans and performs room set-ups in assigned building areas following established routines and procedures. In addition to supporting the department Custodian I, assignments will generally fall into one of the following groupings, although overlapping of duties may occur as needed: Sweeps, dust mops, wet mops, scrubs, strips, restores, buffs, and waxes floors, vacuums Performs other duties needed to maintain the cleanliness of campus floors. Removes trash, cleans counters, equipment, and furnishings. Performs other duties to maintain the cleanliness of laboratories, office areas, classrooms, and other assigned work areas. Cleans and restocks restrooms. Set up chairs, tables, and other equipment in classrooms, meeting rooms, and other public areas. Handles emergency clean-ups; performs other related work as needed. Must be able to bend, twist, reach overhead, push and pull floor equipment (vacuum cleaner), push and pull large trash barrels, and lift full trash bags weighing 30 pounds. Must possess a normal degree of dexterity. Employees will use cleaning chemicals daily and will sometimes work around potentially dangerous materials in certain laboratories. Anticipated Hiring Range: $31,200 - $35,400. Salary offers will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications in relation to the Minimum Hiring Standards. Candidates earlier in their careers are typically offered salaries closer to the minimum of the hiring range, while those with more advanced or relevant experience may be considered for compensation at or above the hiring range.
