Job description
Custodial Cleaning PositionUnder supervision, performs the daily cleaning of buildings. Employees in this classification perform various duties requiring moderate physical strength. Position requires routinely working with noxious chemicals.Examples of DutiesLift/and or move up to 50 pounds.Dust mop, sweep, wet mop, scrub, and spray buff floors.Scrub and clean washrooms, fixtures, and keep restrooms supplied with towels, hand soap and other items.Must have the ability to operate cleaning equipment.Vacuum rugs and carpets and may be required to shampoo carpets on a regular basis.Must be aware that the safety and security of all college property is protected and that all regulations and policies are observed.Clean elevators and stairwells as assigned.Must be aware of and observe all safety rules, regulations, and policies.Will be required to strip and refinish floors.Notify supervisor of needed equipment repair or replacement.Other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or its equivalent.May be required to pass physical examination.Must successfully pass criminal background checkSupplemental InformationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAbility to work with and manipulate heavy objects and equipment.Knowledge and ability to perform minor equipment repairs to custodial equipmentSTATUS/BENEFITS This is a regular full-time support staff position for 35 hours a week, 52 weeks a year classified Grade IV on the Support Staff Salary Schedule. The salary is $37,183 plus a.70 cent an hour shift differential. The work hours are: Monday-Friday 11:30am-7:00pm. The position includes the following employee benefits: $16,000 Annual Flexible Health Benefit: • 10 Vacation, 12 Medical and 3 Personal Days Earned within First Year of Employment • 16 Holidays, 5 Winter break days, 4-Day Summer Workweek.
