Custodian ILocation: To be determinedSalary (Non negotiable) Includes employee benefits package Custodian I (Paygrade 2) $31,262 – $37,918Hours 40 hours, 12 months, 260 days FLSA: Non exempt Contract Unit: This position is part of the non-supervisory support services bargaining unit.QualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. At least two (2) years of commercial cleaning experience. Ability to communicate effectively using the English language when deemed necessary. Ability to read and understand labels, instructions, regulations, and procedure manuals. Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions. Knowledge and training in general custodial duties to include all aspects of cleaning and operation of custodial equipment. A good attendance record. Ability to lift/push/pull a minimum of 50 pounds; ability to climb ladders and work at various heights. Ability to work outside in hot, cold, or inclement weather. Ability to operate equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor machines, mowers, trimmers, etc. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and persons from the community.ResponsibilitiesUsing appropriate equipment and supplies, sweep and clean floors, walls and partitions in all areas of buildings, including classrooms, offices, corridors, gymnasiums, mechanical rooms, locker rooms, and lavatories. Wash and clean windows, light fixtures, ventilators, and other items which may require climbing in excess of eight (8) feet. Clean and polish desks, chairs, tables, cabinets, and other office or classroom equipment. Collect and dispose of trash, scrap, and garbage. Perform grounds work as assigned, including policing, snow removal, etc. Assist organizations using school facilities. Arrange rooms for meeting and conferences. Maintain regular on-time attendance. Perform related work as required.
