Job description
Custodian ISalary Range 26; $21.07 - $25.61 per hour (5 step increments - per contract: highest placement w/experience is step 3). Includes district benefit package. Work Year: 8 hours per day (3:29 p.m. 11:59 p.m.) / 260 days per year. The following employees have been designated to handle questions and complaints of alleged discrimination: Eric Jenkins, District Equity Compliance Officer/Title IX Coordinator, 425 Plumas Blvd., Suite 200, Yuba City, CA 95991, , ; Jen Cates, 504 Coordinator, 425 Plumas Blvd., Suite 200, Yuba City, CA 95991, , ; and Florentino Guzman, Title II Coordinator, 425 Plumas Blvd., Suite 200, Yuba City, CA 95991, , City Unified School DistrictCustodian IRANGE 26 DEFINITION Under supervision, to perform routine custodial work at District facilities; to do related work as required.EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Performs routine custodial duties; confers with principal or supervisor regarding care and cleaning at the school site; informs Head Custodian and/or principal of needed repairs; prepares for and arranges custodial services for a variety of special activities or events; maintains a sufficient quantity of janitorial materials; makes minor repairs to school equipment and buildings; checks heating system to insure adequate heating throughout the plant and changes heating and cooling filters as directed; inspects buildings and grounds for waste, vandalism, and hazardous conditions; resets clocks; hoists flags; receives and delivers supplies; rearranges equipment and furniture among the various school buildings; operates powered vehicles; performs seasonal grounds duties.EMPLOYMENT STANDARDSEducation and Experience: Reading and writing skills sufficient to perform duties and read and understand MSDS sheets required. Prior custodial experience preferred.Knowledge and Skills: Requires general knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in custodial care and routine facilities maintenance. Must have a good knowledge of work hazards and safety procedures. Requires some knowledge of chemical reactions.Abilities: Must be able to perform all of the essential duties of the position with limited supervision. Must be able to maintain tools and equipment in a working condition.Physical Abilities: Requires the ability to walk, bend, stoop and perform repetitive arm and shoulder motions with moderate exertion. Must lift light to medium weight materials or equipment up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis, over 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Requires the ability to operate and maneuver demanding equipment such a floor polishers, carpet cleaners, and extension window cleaners. Requires visual acuity an depth perception to operate equipment and read safety materials.Licenses and Certificates: Requires valid California Driver's License.BWS: cs 05/08/01
