Custodian PositionKent Center School seeks a reliable and dedicated Custodian to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming learning environments for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and works well as part of a collaborative school team.Schedule: Full-year position; 8 hours per dayHours: 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.Working Conditions: Kent Center School serves students in grades PK8. All employees work as a team in a respectful, caring, and supportive environment. The school maintains a positive and welcoming atmosphere, and the successful candidate must be friendly, flexible, and helpful to coworkers, students, families, and community members who enter the building.Essential ResponsibilitiesClean and maintain classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas in accordance with established cleaning, sanitation, safety, and school procedures.Set up and dismantle tables, chairs, and equipment for school events and activities.Perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed.Assist during emergencies as required.Assist with snow removal and ice control.Collect and remove trash and recycling.Follow established safety rules and procedures, including the proper use and storage of cleaning products, chemicals, and equipment.Assist with receiving and distributing deliveries.Perform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh School diploma or GEDPrior custodial or facilities experience preferred.Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and custodial equipment preferred.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Dependable attendance and punctuality.Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods and may be required to bend, kneel, reach, and climb ladders. The position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. The employee may work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions and may be exposed to cleaning chemicals and equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to qualified individuals with disabilities to enable them to perform the essential functions of the position.Compensation and BenefitsWage: $23.00 per hour. This position is eligible for a benefits package that includes: Health and Dental Insurance: Eligibility for employer-sponsored insurance benefits under applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements. Life Insurance: Employer-sponsored life insurance. Retirement: Eligible for employer retirement contributions after one year of service, subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements. Paid Leave: Paid leave benefits, including applicable sick, personal, family illness, vacation, holiday, and other paid leave, in accordance with applicable policies and/or employment terms.
